Warm Spiked Maple Egg Nog

I’ve discovered a new favorite holiday spirit, wink wink – something called Cabin Fever, which is a maple whisky from New Hampshire. When I spotted it sitting next to Fireball in the neighborhood shop, I was brought back to last Christmas season, when i would occasionally make warm cinnamon egg nog using that.

Nowadays? No thanks to the Fireball, but I was curious to give this maple whisky a try. And the result was a really lovely twist on spiked eggnog, a perfect warm concoction to sip by the twinkling tree. Read More Β»

The Perfect Homemade Shandy


The other day I was in the grocery store, looking for a refreshing and light beer option to enjoy later that night. I was thisclose to picking out the Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, when I realized… I could definitely make a better version of this on my own. I grabbed a 6 pack of Stella’s and headed home, where I knew lemons and agave were already waiting for me.

This little recipe is SO simple and the end result is so worth it, if you’re willing to squeeze a couple lemons to have the real thing instead of whatever artificial nasties are hiding in “natural lemonade flavor”. Blegh. Read More Β»
